Vitamin B12 is also known as cobalamin and actually works in concert with B9 to produce white blood corpuscles and consequently defend the body against infection. B12 is mostly found in animal products and dairy products, so if you're vegan you'll need to find an alternative source of the vitamin, probably through a supplement of some kind.
