Tudor Luxury Watches have a very interesting story to tell, being the second brand of Rolex and growing off of it after stopping creating Rolex-like watches for lower prices. As years went by, the brand had started to take a new independent direction, producing innovative watch models design for a young, contemporary clientele.
Both watch-making brands, Rolex and Tudor, were invented by Hans Wilsdorf. Since 1946 when it was officially born, Tudor fought to develop its own brand identity and through the years its timepieces have taken a completely different appearance from their Rolex counterparts.
A few years ago, an innovative watch-line, Tudor Iconaut, was introduced at Baselworld 2008 offering something different from Rolex's, a dual-time chronograph watch.
Defined by a bold design, the timepieces represent masculinity and robustness by their large cases harmoniously made of stainless steel and measuring 43 mm in diameter. Being waterproof and with an outstanding water resistance of 150 meter its boldness is achieved by the 50 meters more compared with an average non-diving Rolex watch.
As for the fascinating mechanisms hidden inside, the new Tudor Iconaut models are automatic and animated by a self-winding chronograph movement, producing 28,800 vibrations per hour, generating thus a 46 hours power reserve.
The design of the dials conserve the sports world, being defined by two chronographs counters at 6, respectively, 12 o'clock position, indicating time intervals of up to 12 hours and a seconds-counter, at 9 o'clock position. Plus, a tachymeter scale is engraved to the edges of the dial.
Design especially for a contemporary dynamic man, Tudor Iconaut is completed by a second- time indicator pointed out by a red stain. Moreover the models have an additional stainless steel bracelet for a stylish look or a black rubber strap, accentuating the sporty look, coming with a price of approximately $3,500.00.
