There's nothing like getting all your mates together to watch the big game, but if you make a little bit of effort and turn it into a proper football party then you can guarantee you'll have even more fun.
Putting together a football party certainly isn't too difficult. In fact, it just involves your traditional get together elements, though perhaps in a more organised fashion. Rather than simply having your beer and tortilla chips spread willy nilly all over the room with mess and crumbs dropping all over the carpet, why not attempt a little more sophistication by using bowls instead of crisp packets, and a table to keep everything neatly on (and away from everybody's feet).
And while it's nice to play the host and provide all of the food and drink for your guests, don't feel like you can't ask them to bring a few items. It's natural to request people bring the crisps and the beer, and that will leave you with more time to concentrate on other things. Maybe you'd like to get in a few snacks that are a little more interesting, like different types of nuts and ethnic treats such as Bombay mix. Perhaps you'd like to even keep it more on the healthy side by providing dips such as hummus with pita slices and carrot sticks - you might be surprised at just how many people are a fan of the humble chick pea - and you may even want to go all out and clean up some glasses for your guests to enjoy their drinks from.
In any case, the chances are your efforts will be largely forgotten during the course of an important football game, but you can still be sure your mates will have a great time if you manage to provide the perfectly-angled TV and enough sitting room for everybody to get comfortable with a good viewing point. You can also keep the place clean enough by picking up empty cans or waste and getting rid of it when it's half time or you need to nip to the bathroom.
Whatever you end up doing for your perfect football party, it isn't hard to see that the key ingredients are a good TV with the sports channels and great mates (and beer!) - so even if you don't end up laying on the chips and dip, you can sit back in the knowledge that it's going to be a great night in.
