Alligators are a popular creature for visitors to Florida, and you can visit them at Gatorland in Orlando. With many great
Orlando hotels nearby its easy to get to, and gives visitors a detailed look at Floridas great alligator population. There are thousands of alligators and crocodiles here, and the park itself stretches across a huge 110-acres to include rides, enclosures, shows and an aviary. Some of these shows include alligator wrestling, or informative presentations on crocodiles and snakes.

Elsewhere in Orland is SeaWorld, and nearby Discovery Cove, both of which give visitors the chance to interact with variety of aquatic life, whether swimming with dolphines, petting stingrays or getting face-to-face with sharks in the various glass enclosures. There are also rides galore, from roller-coasters, swimming pools, water slides and more. The whole family will enjoy the live shows at both parks which feature trainers and animals such as killer whales, dolphins and seals showing off their incredible tricks.

Orlando certainly has plenty to keep visitors happy, and Disneys Animal Kingdom is no exception, with animals from around the globe featuring here. Take an African safari and discover elephants, hippos, giraffes, lions and zebras. Other areas of the park feature even more exotic creatures like lemurs and kangaroos, as well as exciting rides from the easygoing to the totally thrilling. There are Lion King-themed exhibits, and plenty of Disneys famous characters to delight Disney fans of all ages.

If youd rather get away from the zoo-like theme parks, then you can take an airboat tour of the Florida Everglades with The Billie Swamp Safari. Here, in the Big Cypress Indian Reservation in southern Florida, visitors can discover over 2200 acres of Floridas untamed and natural swamp. The tour lets you encounter turtles, alligators, fish, birds and many other animals in their natural homes. Part of the swap tour sees visitors coming close to bison, boar, buffalo and ostriches, and there are live shows to reveal more about these fascinating creatures. Of course, being out in the wilderness doesnt mean you have to go far - youll still be close to many Florida hotels.
