The Feature Packed HTC Desire
The Feature Packed HTC Desire

The attractive looking HTC Desire is, in terms of its appearance, almost identical to the previously released Google Nexus One. It measures in at 119 x 60 x 11.9mm and weighs 135g. The handset packs in a vast array of features despite its small size, and is definitely up amongst the best smartphones on the market right now. The HTC Desire is a bit larger than the Nexus One, due to the addition of a 3.7 AMOLED screen. It still retains the pleasing curved shape of the Nexus One. By replacing the trackball found beneath the scream of the Nexus One, the HTC Desire offers a more responsive product with better optical capabilities. A high quality 5 mega pixel camera is part of the HTC Desire. Its autofocus and LED flash go far in improving the quality of pictures taken in low lighting conditions. The HTC Desire can also capture video at a resolution of 800 x 400. It comes with a micro SD card slot that increases the 512 MB of built in memory to 16 GB. The addition of a very powerful 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor has made the HTC Desire very user friendly. The biggest appeal, though, of HTC's new product, is its handset that incorporates a Sense user interface with an Android 2.1 OS. The neat and sharp display of the HTC Desire offers some of the best navigation between menus of all handsets currently available on the market. The Sense system has an improved calendar widget incorporated into it which shows you your whole agenda as opposed to just a view of the current month. Scrolling your finger across the bottom of the screen opens up extra elements of apps. This scrolling principle is built into the messaging, contacts and music screen too, which makes for great usability. Music tracks are easily changed by dragging a finger across the bottom of the screen, due to improvements made in the media player facility. The 3.7" screen is a natural for handling movie playback and the Desire shows great responsiveness and an attractive natural deep black color in playback. The new smartphone, the HTC desire, is one of very few handsets that incorporate great looks, swift performance and a wide array of features. It is, without question, one of the best smartphones to come onto the market in 2010.
