Despertae Housewives begins to develop. Mary Alice Young has committed suicide in her house. Story begins with her talk-story to tell stories --- dead Mary starts to look all around and care her neighbors' lives:
Susan --- Susan is a child-literature writer. She is powerless to resist man and she asks her husband for a divorce becuase of his derailment in their marriage. Susan has a 15-year-old adolescent daughter named Julie.
Lynete --- Lynette is a typical forceful woman. She conflicts with his husband when they discuss who would be the one that stays at home and watches the four little children.
Bree --- Bree is a perfect housewife. She has high standards in everything she does or say but always neglects her husband and children's needs for love. Bree is very elegant but cold.
Gabrielle --- Gabrielle is sexy. Her husban is rich and understands the delight of life. However, Gabrielle always succumbs to the tempattions to carry on a clandestine love affair. She goes in for material comforts. She also has an unexpected past.
Mary's death make these housewives start to introspect their own daily lives and agree to unload their troubles on each other. But gradually they find that there's a terrible secret hidden behind Mary's death and the new coming neighbor Mike seems to have involved this suicide...
Story of Desperate Housewives begins with Mary's suicide gun shot. And after this gun shot, a set of evil plots and murders seeming impossible happens among these seeming ordinary housewives. Where then do their careers, families and feelings go on?
