Contact Lenses Or Glasses?

If you have any form of visual impairment or partial blindness then its likely that you will need to wear glasses to correct the problem. However, contact lenses are as popular now as glasses and are worn by men and women throughout the country as a means to forego the wearing of glasses. Whether through a sense of vanity or simply wanting the added convenience that contact lenses have to offer, a lot of people are shopping online to buy their contacts.

Clearer Vision

Contact lenses sit directly on the eye, compared to glasses which are placed away from the eyes. This means that greater clarity and consistency can be offered by the wearing of contacts. They do not move around and the distance between contact and eye remains constant. So too does the clarity of sight you receive from wearing them.

Improved Peripheral Vision

Another sight benefit of contacts is in the peripheral vision that a person has. Glasses do not typically wrap around the whole face and this means that anything appearing in the periphery of the line of sight can be difficult to spot and even more difficult to recognise and focus on. Contacts cover the whole eye and are therefore more effective throughout the field of vision than glasses.

Weather Conditions

Weather conditions can also prove troublesome for glasses wearers. Rain and cold weather can cause the glasses to fog up or mist over. Constant cleaning is necessary if the glasses are subjected to these conditions over any period of time and this can be impractical at best. Contacts are in the eye and are afforded basically the same protection against the elements as the eyes themselves.

Aesthetic Appeal

Some people simply do not like the feeling of wearing glasses. They can initially feel heavy while some face shapes are difficult to match to a stylish pair of glasses. Contact lenses are invisible to the human eye unless you choose coloured contacts but care should be taken when choosing these.

Contact Lenses Or Glasses?

Many people have already realised the benefits of contact lenses when compared to glasses but some still cling to the wearing of glasses. Contacts can take some getting used to but the benefits they offer make it a worthwhile venture to become accustomed to the placing and removal of contacts from the eyes.
