subject: How To Get Your Stomach Summer-ready [print this page]

Its that time of year againIts that time of year again. You know, summer. Pools and lakes will be filled to capacity, the days longer and hotter. And you wont have any rational excuse not to wear a swimming suit. If you are like many women, the thought of stripping down to your bikini in public may make you hyperventilate. However, with a few simple tricks, you can ensure that your stomach is summer-ready.

One of the single biggest issues women have with their stomachs is stretch-marks. Fortunately, there are more treatments and concealers available than ever before, and they are more affordable and readily available than you may think. If you are looking for something that can truly get rid of your stretch marks, there are dozens of prescription and OTC creams available that actually fade and reduce stretch marks. These methods are going to be long-term, however, and most users do not report significant improvement until at least 8-12 weeks after beginning treatment.

If you are looking for something that works (at least cosmetically) much faster than that, there are methods of concealing stretch marks that are highly effective. One of the best that I have ever tried involves simple self-tanner. Simply apply self-tanner to your stomach, after it has processed, you may notice that your stretch marks are still lighter than the surrounding skin. Remedy this by using a cotton swab to apply a second layer of self-tanner directly to the stretch marks themselves. This should even out your tone, and render your stretch marks practically invisible.

Other common stomach-related skin issues are bloating, cellulite, paleness and dry skin. These are fairly easy to remedy. Laying off of the gum and carbonation can reduce stomach bloating markedly. If after doing this, you havent achieved the desired results, an inexpensive OTC diuretic can bridge the gap. Cellulite can be remedied with a simple spa treatment (for the most effective and fastest results) or with OTC pills or creams. Paleness and dry skin can be treated simultaneously with a self-tanning lotion. Do try to avoid lotions with high alcohol content for best results
