Can you recall a time in your life when everything just seemed to flow effortlessly?
Perhaps you secured the job of your dreams, acquired a new property or transitioned into running your own business. Whatever the scenario was, when you look back it seemed to occur naturally and with minimal time investment, pain or effort.
Now contrast that with the exact opposite occurrence where everything you find yourself involved with is difficult and a real struggle. The harder you work the less productive you become and the more stress you create. Life, by comparison, becomes a hugh effort and wherever you turn you see obstacles, mountains to climb and roadblocks in your way.
Most of us can relate to both aspects because life, at times, can be challenging and we have to learn to navigate our way through. We can choose the difficult path or we can choose the path of least resistance.
When life gets tough it is generally a sign that we have fallen out of balance somewhere along the lines. There is a lack of alignment with our mind, body, and spirit connection. The signs are obvious. We book ourselves on to time management courses and buy ourselves time saving gadgets.We feel tired, drained and stressed all the time often resulting in heaviness in the body and tension in the shoulders or problems with our digestion perhaps. We talk about work all the time and become a bore to our friends and family. We look older, have less patience appearing irritable and distracted and have fallen into the trap of believing that this is the way life is. Our thoughts and habits can quickly turn negative leading to addictions, a poor self-image and low self esteem.
The difficulty with all of this is that we can create a self perpetuating cycle because our thoughts create our reality and in order to change our lives we must begin to develop our minds to create the required new habits. When we become stuck' in this way it is difficult to adapt to change as we tend to fear the unknown and hold on to the old in an attempt to retain control of our circumstances. As the famous saying goes;
What you resist persists'
The universal laws of success teach us that we can get into creative flow by learning to follow nature. In other words if we observe how nature works we begin to understand that life is a series of cycles. Everything in nature grows, dies then gets recreated. Everything has a period of gestation. A seed does not struggle to grow and a bird does not struggle to fly they both just do. Of course conditions need to be right, enough rain to nourish, for example, so just like nature we need to be in harmony to allow our creative potential to flow effortlessly.
6 Tips to Enable You To Get Into Creative Flow;
1)Find your purpose in life and ignite your passions.
Try and spend your time in work that fulfils uplifts and inspires you. When we find our passion and purpose in life we are naturally more energised and optimistic about life and we literally lose sense of time. In order to do this we must have the courage to follow our hearts not our heads as the starting point. If it feels right then that's a sure sign you are on the right path.
2) Learn to live in the moment
If you are preoccupied all the time with thoughts of the past or the future you miss opportunities in the present moment. There is an abundance of synchronicities for those that are open to receiving and are observant of living in the now. The present' is called present for a reason because it is a gift.
3) Practice mindfulness
We must get control of our thoughts by learning to slow down. Daily meditation is one of the best ways to begin to observe our thoughts and calm our minds. We put ourselves into a slower brain wave state which assists in connecting us to our spirit and in doing so enabling us to receive information in the form of inspiration. This word actually means to be in spirit'.
4) Learn to let go
We have to learn to move on in life and begin to see the unknown as a possible friend rather than foe. As we release ourselves from trying to control everything in our lives and learn to detach from outcomes then life becomes surprisingly more spontaneous, exciting, adventurous and generally opportunities begin to emerge that we could never have anticipated. Just like nature abhors a vacuum as we release old thoughts, items of clothing, relationships etc then new options fill that empty space.
5) Be grateful
When we focus our attention on what is right about our lives rather than what is missing we allow the possibility of spirit working through us and with us to achieve our desires and ambitions in life. The more service we can give to others the better.
6) Feed and nourish your soul
We must learn to appreciate that if we want more energy and vitality we must look after our bodies by eating in the right way. An inspired life, however, also begins with nourishing our souls by listening to music that soothes us, watching programmes and material that uplifts us and spending time in nature or places we cherish and with people we cherish.
When we can learn to appreciate that by slowing down we can actually achieve so much more then magic begins to happen. We manage to get creative and in doing so become both productive and efficient with our time.This is the path less travelled but in a world where everyone is speeding up, getting more stressed and becoming less creative this presents a far more attractive option. If you have begun to make adjustments like this and are getting criticised by friends and colleagues for it then this is a sure sign you are moving in the right direction. It is easy for many of us to be derailed by what others think and sabotage our growth and happiness as a result. So don't follow the crowd take the opposite path.
