Can You Make Right Decisions All The Time?

When was the last time you opened the fridge and unwittingly ate something although you were not hungry? No doubt, you will be able to recall such an incident. The fact that you could recall indicates that it was a voluntary action; not hungry and yet eating something points to impulsive action.

You are not alone. Eating on an impulse is like a latent disease that manifests itself without a warning!

It's the Subconscious Psyche

You are aware of actions that do not help you. You have often decided to strengthen your resolve to avoid eating at unearthly hours, especially because most of the times you pop into your mouth unhealthy foods. You have often wondered why you cannot stop this habit.

At Survival of the Fitness' we have often observed that fitness is associated with ability to resist bouts of eating something or the other. Good health is related to a healthy mind-set.

Healthy Mind-set

A mind preoccupied with uncomfortable thoughts cannot take right decisions(s). In such a situation, you would prefer to postpone the decision making process until the haze in the mind clears out. Thus, in any given situation, your decision making capability will rest upon the condition of your mind.

None of us are exempt from such a situation. But then how is it that some people look completely unfazed even if they are surrounded with many controversies in their minds?

Generally, negative emotions cloud thinking process.

Unlike a patient who is in isolation and is forced to keep away from his routine work, a normal person who appears fit but who is emotionally disturbed cannot stay away from circumstances that may force him to make decisions. It is in situation such as this when he needs his health to support him. Unhealthy body will lead to faster mental exhaustion.

And, when mentally tired, your impulse can get better of you. You will soon find yourself with junk food in front of you. With tired mind, it is difficult to keep the resolve of not biting into the forbidden. Your capacity to think and take decisions in important matters is subdued.

A healthy individual is always active and so is his thinking process. His attitude is positive unlike that of an unhealthy person. It is common knowledge that an active mind is a young mind that can defy age related sicknesses like Alzheimer's disease. Staying healthy despite age will allow you to stay off wrong decisions, including bingeing. More right decisions means less unhappiness for you and your near ones.
