For example when your surfing the web and you "Stumble Upon" something that interests you or you think that it's quality content and you want to share it, you Social Bookmark it.
Most sites you come across these days have the Social Bookmarking icon's on the site itself. So all you have to do is click on the icon, put in the url and a short description and some tags then your done. You need to have a account with that bookmarking site before you are able to create a bookmark on it. What you've done by creating a bookmark is you've created a page consisting of a link with the keywords that you've identified and tagged it with. Those pages point back to the site that you stumbled upon and In the search engines eyes you've basically just voted for that particular site.

When or if it does show up in the search engines the smart thing to do would be to promote your promoters by Pinging, submitting a RSS feed and Social Bookmarking it. Why?
