A recent quote I found somewhere written by an unknown author. It is so very true, though. It is possible to apply this concept to Affiliate Marketing and making money on the net. Keep reading to find out how. Imagine a carpenter turning up to a building site with nothing but a hammer to work with. That would be a sight, wouldn't it. He would have nothing to do but roam the site looking for nails that he could pound into place. What kind of building structure would we end up with? A shoddy one, I imagine. Anyway, affiliate marketing and making money on the internet is pretty much the same. Only difference is, you are building a business instead of a house. A business that needs to be nurtured like a baby so as to allow it to grow bigger and make you more money.
ALAS! The problem with affiliate marketing is - so, so many people turn up to the arena with nothing but a personal computer and expect to be able to make a million dollars from it. It is not possible to make a million dollars in any short period of time, however statistics show that it HAS been done in the past. There is just one thing that you will need to learn right from the word GO though, and that is the simple fact that 95% of all people who venture into the world of internet marketing will give up after a while. That while is a variable, it could be as short as a few weeks or it may even be years, none the less they still give up! I am an affiliate marketer, and I struggled for almost a year and a half on my own trying to put the pieces of the affiliate marketing puzzle together. In that year and a half, YEAH I made a little bit of money, but it wasn't from the sale of affiliate products. It came mostly from Google AdSense and my free blogger blog. I never (not even once) made a sale of an affiliated product during my first year and a half on the internet.
It is possible that you are probably not even surprised to hear that, in fact you may even be in the same situation. Many people are, and / or have been there. Therefore, my one piece of advice to you today is 'Believe in yourself!'. No one else believes in you, so you have to believe in yourself in order to succeed. Start with a hammer, if that is all you can afford, then use your hammer to start earning money to buy more tools and make even more money.
A hammer is not a required tool of the affiliate marketing trade. But, as you already know - a PC is, and it is an essential tool that is needed for any person to be able to make money on the internet. A PC is just one tool amongst many that an affiliate marketer needs. With a PC, you will be able to start a free blog on the internet. Free blogs are great for the beginner to learn how to create content and learn how to get back links and drive traffic. They can also be monetized with Google AdSense and other ad programs.
Now, assuming you have a PC, another tool you will need is KNOWLEDGE, not general knowledge, though. The kind of knowledge you are going to need is technical knowledge related to affiliate marketing like - how to build a website, how to drive traffic to your website, how to research keywords for your website and most importantly, how to monetize your website. I like you and every other, started my affiliate marketing career with nothing but a PC and an hour or two a day of free time that I used to research ways in which I could make money on the internet. I learned a great deal, in a short period of time, too. BUT... I was in too much of a hurry and I wanted my million dollars NOW! and the end result was, I took too many shortcuts and wound up losing money and enthusiasm. It actually became a bit of a nightmare. I NEVER gave up, though.
To summarize, Affiliate Marketing is just one way that a person is able to make a few extra dollars on the internet. In my opinion - It is the easiest way, too. You will have to invest some of your time and some of your money to learn how to get started, though. Why not get started today. After all, there is No Time Like The Present. Right?
