Behaviour Management
Behaviour Management

Many schools and learning institutions up and down the country are increasingly finding themselves struggling to cope with the behaviour and attitudes of students to work and to authority. Many feel they shouldn't be in school and have the attitude that they can speak to and treat people with authority any way they like. Many schools suffer with students who are disruptive and sometimes even aggressive.

As a teacher first starting out in the profession it can be very hard to cope with the behaviour of students. Teachers at the start of their career and during their training are not taught how to properly deal with troublesome behaviour. This in turn can cause many problems and can leave a new teacher feeling very deflated and not wanting to carry on. Most of the teachers who leave the profession are those who have been in the job less than 5 years. This is startling information due to the fact that the main reason they leave is due to student behaviour.

Learning to feel confident and comfortable when starting out is not something you can just acquire it's something that takes years of practise and a lot of learning. Probably the best way a teacher would learn is from observing and learning from teachers with more experience. They will have a lot more experience in dealing with troublesome pupils and will also be able to relate to the problems a new teacher may have as they've been in the same situation before.

There are some people out there who specialise in this area and are more then happy to help with any problems you are having. They usually specialise in teaching and helping people in the education profession. They can help with teacher training, behaviour management and even classroom management. They provide friendly helping advice and even hold personal classes to help you feel more prepared and equipped to deal with problem students and pupils.
