Years ago Andrew Reynolds was persuaded to take a two year business course at the local college. His dad thought it would be a good idea.
However, Andrew Reynolds told us all that it was two years of his life down the drain. The tutor was a failed businessman, so he had decided to teach other people how to be in business. Of course, this tutor didn't have a clue.
At the Bootcamp Andrew Reynolds advised us listen and learn only from the people who have been there and done that'.
His dad always listened to his bank manager. He was always coming up with wacky ideas and Andrew remembers his dad coming home and saying things like, "The bank manager thinks it's a great idea." But a bank manager isn't a business man they're employed by the bank. His dad took advice from people like bank managers and accountants and spent his life in relative poverty.
Andrew Reynolds told us how one of the guys on the same business course as he was on all those years ago, well, Andrew found him on the Internet and he had been a bank manager for thirty years it was the only job he'd ever had, so how would he know about being in business? Another guy at that same course was unemployed but thankfully off anti-depressants.
At Andrew Reynolds Bootcamp he also told us he doesn't even listen to advice from his accountant. He discovered a long time ago that an accountant is someone who gets their kicks from balancing rows of figures. His advice was never ask your accountant for directions in business. And I wrote this down. Andrew has a saying, Accountants keep the score, they don't play the game'.
Andrew Reynolds told us during the Bootcamp weekend he learned a long time ago to be flexible in business. Sometimes things happen that are outside our control. For example if there is a postal strike and it affects the direct mail section of his business, he simply goes to the Internet part of the business.
With the way Andrew Reynolds showed us all how to run a business, we could be certain of making money no matter what happens.
