subject: Mind Games Can Lead To Success! [print this page]

Do you know the feeling when you really want something badly, but for some unknown reason you don't seem to be able to get yourself to take action and make it happen? Well, that unknown reason is that you are pretty comfortable right where you are.

That doesn't mean there was no truth in your desire - only that to change things would take more effort then you feel you have the time and energy for. How can you push past those feeling? After all, they are just feeling and thoughts that control your circumstances and hold you back from being more than content or from going past 'good enough.'

You'll need to stir things up a bit if you want to play a bigger game and create the success that you know is possible for yourself. I started thinking about the different scenarios that might motivate people and came up with 3 mind games. I know we have been taught that mind games are a no-no and we should avoid them, but here I want to show you how they could really punch up your actions.

Suppose you could get really excited about doubling your income in the next 30 days. Right now, you get by just fine and you are paying your bills every month, so the motivation is not as deeply rooted as it could be. You desire to travel and you dream about owning a boat, but someday that will happen, but nothing is kicking you in the butt to have you play full out - right now, today!

Where does that butt kicking come from? There are a variety of ways, but let's explore a few mind game scenarios. First, you have to believe this and pretend it is real. You have to put yourself in this state of mind! Remember the acting skills you learned in high school? It's time to act like you did in your high school theater class.

1. What if a philanthropist is practicing a random act of kindness and in an effort to motivate and inspire you, decides to give you $100K.00 bonus if you double your income in the next 30 days. You might also consider that you need to maintain that for 3 consecutive months for the payout. And just think -- if you can do it for one month, you could probably continue on? So with this truth.. what would you do differently? What would you start doing? What would you stop doing? Who would you call for support?

2. Someone you adore and love dearly is being held captive in a very dangerous situation and will not be released unless you double your income in the next 30 days. What are some things you could do differently? How would you stretch yourself to play bigger? What can you begin doing, what can you put a stop to? What actions will you support?

3. You are challenged by a friend. Whoever doubles his income in the next 30 days is the winner. The winner gets to choose any destination in the world and the loser gets to pay for a week's vacation - all expenses included. How do you structure your days to get the most out of them? What will your primary focus be? How will you move forward. What can you begin doing, what can you put a stop to? What actions will you support?

These are just a few ideas to show you, depending on how you are motivated, that under the right circumstances you could absolutely without a doubt double your monthly income, or whatever else you deem a worthy goal. So next time you feel yourself dreaming about a new situation or different results, get out of your state of being comfortable. Try one of these mind games out to take bigger action then you thought possible. What game would you like to play and what are you playing for? Create your success!
