subject: For Sale Electronics [print this page]

There are so many electronic products on the market now. It used to be a High Street shop selling TV and HiFi. Now there is just about anything you can think of in an electronics shop. Electronics have moved on enormously in the last few years. You only have to watch a movie from the eighties to see people using mobile phones the size of a brick! Who would have thought then that we would have mobiles not much bigger than a credit card and with the ability to do so much more than just make a call. Sat Navs have pushed road maps into the archives. You can carry an enormous amount of music in your pocket with an ipod. You would have needed a van for all that 20 years ago! Cameras used to be the forte of professionals but with the digital age upon us, we can all take top quality photos. Not only that but we can keep them so much easier. External hard drives are great storage for the enthusiastic photographer. Can you imagine keeping that sort of volume in photo albums, our lofts would be creaking. You can view your photos in digital photo frames with changing pictures. I could be sitting here bashing out reviews on an old manual typewriter with a paper mountain to go with it.

How lucky we are to have all this technology at our fingertips. We can watch TV in HD with cinema surround sound, bringing programmes alive in our living room. We can play computer games that feel so realistic, we can be our favourite footballer or racing driver. We can sing songs with our favourite pop stars, the list is endless.

The internet has brought so much information into our homes. No longer do we have a set of encyclopaedias that no one ever used. You just google it or look it up in Wikipedia. There is nothing you cant find out from the simplest of things to the most complicated. The opportunities this presents for all of us to improve our knowledge is enormous. Not only that but you can take it all with you. Notebooks and mobile phones connect to the web wherever you are. You can do your work travelling to and from your workplace.

But does this make us happier? You can entertain yourself easily with the flick of a button. Years ago you would have had to be a bit more inventive and amuse yourself. Still the youngsters of today say they are boredhow can that be? We must never stop thinking for ourselves. Technology has presented us with so many open doors but we still need to use our minds to take full advantage of whats available.

I think by now you will have guessed, Ive been around a while! Never forget where we have come from but most of all never underestimate where you can go to..

Next time you see
