subject: Engage Your Audience Or Sales Team With Sales Jokes [print this page]

The reality is that in any course the trainer is faced with the challenge of keeping the attendees engaged. It is all too easy for participants to drift off the topic if a presentation becomes monotonous and simply focuses on imparting knowledge about sales skills and resources.

To break this potential monotony trainers are encouraged to consider including a few sales jokes in their repertoire. These do not need to be adult sales jokes that might offend certain members of the group but rather look to embark on a good sales training joke, a sales meeting joke or other jokes about sales and anecdotes or experiences that you can relay to the class that will provided some humorous relief.

In a sales meeting scenario mangers are also encouraged to have a few good sales jokes up their sleeve so that when appropriate they can relate one and bring the group together in shared laughter. Research shows that laughter really is good medicine and increases the adrenaline and positive mood vibes in a person.

In a sales meeting environment where the manager is often endeavouring to drive the sales team to ensure they achieve targets, all too often a attitude towards the manager will be negative. The feeling that the manager does not understand the difficulties or pressure involved in the sales process particularly when economic times may not be favourable for the company's service or product.

By throwing in a good sales joke the manager will bring the sales team onside and demonstrate that he has their best interests at heart and that he is there for them at any time should they need support. The manager needs to not only impart knowledge and skill sets but also emphasise the importance of the team relationship and by sharing a good sales meeting joke with the team there tensions will be reduced and they will see the manager in quite a different light.

He will be deemed to be one of them in the sense that they realise his contribution to the team's efforts and his desire to support in any way he can. Research makes it clear that if the sales team is upbeat and achieving targets the rest of the employees will also be much more positive in their approach to work and others.

Where a company looks to encourage humour in the work place it will see such efforts rewarded by improved profitability and job satisfaction levels. Happy employees are less likely to take sick days off, they are keen to see the company succeed and want to be a contributor to that success.

Everyone wins when a happy work environment is a priority for business owners and corporations. Sales jokes and other funnies will help get you there.
