Welcome to Day 4. The phone system is still not working and I am not getting any answer from the engineer as to when it will be resolved. So today I had to make a couple of phone calls on my UK mobile that will no doubt cost me a fortune. There are plenty of companies out there that offer a VOiP solution that you can "buy off the shelf". Skype being the one that most people have heard of but for free calls both parties need to have a Skype account, great for family and friend but not idea for work. Skype will also let you phone land lines, for a cost which is cheaper than using your mobile abroad. You can also receive calls on a number they will give you, but of course only when your computer is on and connected to the internet.
I have an old account with a provider and there was a 10 credit left on there, however when I logged in today the credit had disappeared. In fairness to them it will be about two years since I looked at the account so they may well have deleted my credit, nevertheless I have asked their support team a question. Voipcheap.
Although I have a full morning at work I did not achieve as much as I wanted, although of course it was very pleasant to be here in the sun doing the work. In the 4 to 5 hours I am spending in the mornings working I would guess that I am achieving probably the same productivity and I would in the office in a full day. Part of this is of course due to the fact that I have not got the distractions of the phone ringing and people calling in the office.
Went down the beach after lunch and had another day swimming and snorkelling. Personally I love seeing all the fish on the corals and I could spend hours doing it. Like all of us I could do with being fitter and so spending an hour or two swimming with the marine fish in the Caribbean just seems like a huge pleasure I'm not sure why I find going to the gym!
I saw several fish that I have not seen in the previous few days including a large shawl of about 50 bright blue Fish with a gold small block just before their tail and about the size of my hand. I have no idea what they were. I also saw a rather large pale blue eel, must have been about 3 foot long.
We are all getting a little more used to the heat and perhaps a little bit too much so as both Alec and myself are looking a bit lobster-ish today.
We need to get on with sorting out a car so that we can look at me different areas where we may want to live and be different job/business opportunities that are available, also Janet is bored now not having anything to do the last few days other than cooking, cleaning and sitting around reading books, she's not one not to be inactive!
I have put up a couple of photographs and a video on the blog so you can see how hard life can be
