subject: Nfl Tickets - Week 3 Observations [print this page]

Here are some things that stood out to me in Week 3 of the 2009 NFL season.

The Jets are a confident and dangerous team. Mark Sanchez is bound to have some ups and downs this season, but he's been supremely impressive thus far. The Jets are not strictly relying on their running game and defense to win them games, but are looking to Sanchez to make plays as well. Word is that the team has responded to Sanchez and he's already garnering a veteran's level of respect in the locker room.

The Colts have not missed a beat despite the coaching transition. The offense is looking like it's firing on all cylinders and Peyton Manning appears to be in midseason form already. The running game has been slow to start, but showed some significant promise against Arizona. The defense has been able to put pressure on the opposing quarterback consistently, and the run defense appears to be coming around as well.

This could very well be one of the best three teams in the National Football League right now and definitely one that fans will want to get NFL tickets to see this season.

The Patriots are still a very competitive team. The Falcons looked really strong overall in their first two games, but were pretty much dominated by New England in Week 3. Tom Brady is shaking off the rust and Randy Moss is certainly helping in that respect. Fred Taylor could be the answer at running back, as he notched more than 100 yards on the ground against Atlanta. The defense looked much better than it had in the previous two games, showing Bill Belechick's ability to make the most out of his defensive personnel yet again.

The New York Giants are the best team in football right now. They could very well have the best running game in the NFL and Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw are both very good backs. Their defense is a terror and really pushes offensive units around. Eli Manning looks to have taken the next step as a quarterback, as his improving completion percentage suggests he's turned a corner in that respect. Steve Smith is the reliable kind of possession receiver that Manning can depend on, and this team looks destined for a big season.

The Ravens are really good. The best teams in the league don't just beat their lesser opponents, they dominate them, just as the Ravens did to the Browns in Week 3. Joe Flacco has improved in leaps and bounds from his rookie season and the team's running attack is really dangerous. The defense is one of the better units in the league and this team's balance could take Baltimore to great heights this season.

The Bengals are for real. After a fluke loss to the Broncos in Week 1, the Bengals have gone 2-0 and are definitely a respectable team. Their defense is one of the better units in the AFC and their offense seems to be coming together. This team should only improve as the season progresses.
