subject: Nfl Tickets - Week 4 Top 10 Power Rankings [print this page] Here are the top 10 teams in the NFL as I see them going into Week 4 of the 2009 season, listed in order.
New York Giants: The Giants are the cream of the crop in the National Football League and are the NFC's most balanced team. They run the ball very effectively, using the power game of Brandon Jacobs and the speed of Ahmad Bradshaw. On defense, they do a pretty good job against the run and are a terror against the pass, putting constant pressure on opposing quarterbacks. The receiving corps, headlined by Steve Smith, is better than advertised and Eli Manning is having his best season as a pro thus far.
Baltimore Ravens: The Ravens are the AFC's most balance team. Do you think it's a coincidence than the league's two most balanced teams are numbers one and two in these rankings? The Ravens' ground game has gotten an unexpected boost by Willis McGahee and Joe Flacco looks like a star quarterback. The defense is solid and this team should be tough all season.
Indianapolis Colts: This passing attack is resembling some of those great Colts' units that sold so many NFL tickets earlier this decade. Peyton Manning appears to be in midseason form and is looking like he could be on his way to yet another MVP award. The defense and running game came around a bit against Arizona and this team could be in line for big things this season.
New Orleans Saints: Apparently Greg Williams has figured out how to make this defense successful. The Saints are playing well on the defensive side of the ball, and considering their offensive firepower, they could very well be a Super Bowl team this season.
Minnesota Vikings: It took a miracle play at the end of their matchup against the Niners, but Brett Favre has the Vikings at 3-0. The team still hasn't really gelled completely on offense, but they've been doing a good enough job thus far. Tougher tests lay ahead, though.
New York Jets: The Jets are 3-0 and riding high. They've got a very good, aggressive defense and they're running a conservative offense to suit rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez. The Jets may still be a year away from being a real contender once the playoffs roll around, but they sure look like a playoff team right now.
New England Patriots: The Patriots bounced back from a tough loss at the Jets with a win over a quality football team in the Atlanta Falcons. This team should round into form as the season progresses.
Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons lost in Foxborough, but they're still a balanced team that has a good shot at the playoffs this season.
Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles have kept their heads above water without Donovan McNabb and he should be back soon. LeSean McCoy looks ready to take over for Brian Westbrook, whenever the need is there, and this team looks better than I initially thought they would.
San Diego Chargers: The Chargers have not looked great, but they gave the Ravens a run for their money in Week 2, which counts for something, and have a ton of talent.
