I heard about a new penny auction site called Madbid that caters to where I live, the United Kingdom, and I decided to find out what the big fuss was all about. The advertisements said that you could win brand new items for a lot less than you'd pay in retail stores, and I was a little excited about this. I went online and did some research on this company and other penny auction sites and here's what I found out...
After testing out MadBid for myself I found out the hard way that this site doesn't deliver what it promises. Now don't get me wrong, I know there are some really good penny auction sites out there, but unfortunately, Madbid.com just isn't one of them.
I bought some bids and tried to win as many items as I could, but I just couldn't beat anyone. Now usually I'd chalk that up to being my problem and not the site's problem, but the fact of the matter is that I've been able to win tons of items from other places, but I can't win anything with Madbid.
I did end up eventually winning a product, but the delivery times were ridiculous for it. There's no reason you should have to wait over a month to receive a product from them, and their customer service isn't too helpful either.
