Steve Carell leaving The Office has finally been confirmed by Carell himself. According to news sources Steve Carell leaving The Office is now a fact, and that the seventh season of The Office will be the last for the actor.
"I just think it's time," Carell told E! "I want to fulfill my contract. When I first signed on I had a contract for seven seasons, and this coming year is my seventh. I just thought it was time for my character to go."
It's hard to fathom that The Office will continue when Carell walks away from the show, and it would probably be best for fans to consider this the final season of the critically acclaimed show.

In a BBC interview in April, the Emmy-winning comedian, 47, revealed that it was unlikely that he would sign up for additional seasons of The Office past the terms of his current contract.
If 'The Office' is going to continue without Carell, who should NBC hire to fill the gap? Here's a list of some of the top candidates for Dunder Mifflin's new boss:
John Oliver
John Hodgman
Ricky Gervais
My guess is whoever replaces Michael Scott won't work out and NBC will be forced to drop the show after one season. The Office is one of my favorite shows and I hate to see it fall.
