Chicago Lexus RX drivers see a new leader in luxury car sales

Like other car segments, the luxury car niche took a big hit over the course of the recession. I'm a tried and true luxury car enthusiast, and I can tell you that I hadn't bought a new car up until about two weeks ago, when I headed into my Chicago Lexus RX dealership. Finally, the clouds of the recession are parting and the sunlight of consumer interest is beginning to shine through. While Toyota was recently hit with some massive recalls that have definitely affected the company's bottom line, Chicago used Lexus dealers have seen the sister brand's sales going through the roof. What would you possibly expect from one of the most innovative automakers on the market? Certainly not falling sales, as BMW is currently in the process of logging.

Among luxury brands, Lexus has certainly been on the up and up. Take a look at the sales numbers and you'll have unwavering proof that Lexus continues to lead the way in innovation. Chicago Lexus RX dealers are benefitting heavily from a 31 percent sales increase over the month of May for the entire brand. Incentive programs have certainly been instrumental in the brand's sudden lead over Mercedes Benz. In total, my favorite luxury brand was able to log 22,216 vehicles in the U.S. over the month of May. Year to date totals have reached 90,098 cars and trucks. The sales are up a total of 23 percent in comparison to May 2009, when Chicago used Lexus dealers and the rest of the industry were being pummeled by the nasty effects of the recession.

Unfortunately for BMW, the brand saw sales fall over the month of May. It seems to me that a lot of the success that has come to Chicago Lexus RX dealers stems from some of the exciting new cars and technologies that the brand is employing. A recent release, the CT200h, leverages cutting edge engine technology and used a really hip marketing strategy to get the point across. Talk about some seriously crucial branding jumps; Lexus has been really taking the reins and exploiting the fact that the auto industry is almost entirely up for grabs after the collapse of the Big Three and the nasty sales drop over the course of 2009. For Chicago used Lexus dealers, the time is now to really make your mark in the volatile auto market.

As the industry continues its quick evolution, Lexus continues to follow the path of its older brother Toyota and really commit to innovation and change. It doesn't hurt that Lexus cars have their own unique brand of style to set them apart from the competition. On top of that, Lexus cars feature dependability that has been unmatched across the industry for years. With this kind of momentum, Lexus has the opportunity to really stick it to some of the older luxury automakers by showing who is the new king in town. What do you think? Do you think Lexus will make a big move this year or not? It certainly is the time for them to kick into gear.
