About a week ago I created a blog on blogger.com with the intent of learning a little about the world of blogging. I was pleased to find the amount of personalization the site offered. By no means am I a professional writer - yet- but my first post was an enjoyable experience. I was able to change the theme and layout of my blog with the very user-friendly controls. Being inquisitive of all the features the blog had, it probably only took me a little over an hour to set everything up before I began my post. While writing the text and inserting the photos, I did run across one problem that sucked up quite a bit of time trying to correct. When previewing my post, the formatting was not matching up with what I had in the text box, which was pretty irritating. Honestly, I'm not quite sure what I did to make it work but I eventually had it looking like what I wanted. Now that I have created the blog and my first post, I can say that I am satisfied with its capabilities - hopefully I will unlock its potential in the near future as I add more content to the site.
My story is one that many people can probably relate to. New media can be a new and stressful topic to users just diving into the world of social media. Luckily, my experiences have been quite pleasant and educational. But for those of you that may need some guidance and assistance, I have a Web site with very useful information on how to get started in the world of social media. The site lists many resources for the world of internet marketing as it pertains to social media posted by students in a social media course at Michigan State University. It should help out anyone that is looking for more information on the topic, so enjoy!
