I recently created a blog about Fashion. I have been wanting to for some time now, and I really glad I got the opportunity to make one for my New Media Driver's License Class at Michigan State University. I have enjoyed creating my blog and writing my posts, but I'm having trouble drawing readers.
I started to dig into search engine optimization(SEO) this week and I discovered many tips to draw more readers to my blog.I was reminded that each post should have a strong headline that speaks to a specific audience. Posts need to be written with your readers in mind, and all posts should be consistent and geared toward the same reader.
One of the most important things I was reminded of is that your post needs to be quality content on a specific topic. Don't just post for the sake of posting. SEO won't be effective if you create a post an several related topics. It is my understanding that the simpler the posts, the easier it is to tag them for specific content.
Another important tipinteract with other bloggers. A great way to get readers to come to your site, is to go to theirs and comment on their content. Make sure you're not just commenting for the sake of commenting and you actually have something relevant to say. If you go to other blogs that target the same audience you do, your comments could possibly drive their readers to your blog. Bloggers also appreciate you coming to their blog, so many times they will return the favor.
I'm still learning, but after this week I feel like I have the tools to drive more people to my blog.
