Wireless Networking The good the bad and the dangerous!

By now we are all aware of the advantages and convenience of a wireless network at home. You can setup your computer anywhere within your home and easily add additional computers no matter what room there in. With this convenience also comes some danger and I am amazed that there isn't more public education on this subject.

An unsecured wireless network (or a poorly setup one) can pose a very serious and real threat to its unsuspecting user. There are a multitude of tools readily available on the internet to help anyone hack a computer, log keystrokes or take control. With an unsecured wireless network the task of the would be hacker is made all too easy. It's like leaving your front door wide open and a big sign out the front saying take what you want!

Like all technology today it is time saving, convenient and in the wrong hands dangerous. I would strongly advise everyone with a wireless network to make sure that it properly secured and if you have any doubt seek the services of a computer expert. Remember most of us access our bank accounts via the internet!!!!

If you require help Networks Now Pty Ltd can assist in a number of ways. If you are in Sydney then we can come to you, if not then we can do it remotely. We also have a free support forum where we can answer your questions for you.

This is an issue you should take very seriously and if you have any doubts get it checked.
