Data Storage Corp, which is a provider of data protection and electronic data storage services, has announced today on its company website the acquisition of SafeData. SafeData, a data protection tech company, is located in Warwick, RI.
"By acquiring SafeData, Data Storage Corporation (DSC) expands its current solutions which include: data backup and recovery, digital archiving, virtual hosting and standby data recovery, e-discovery, email archiving and host exchange to the IBM iSeries market leveraging SafeData's high availability, data recovery and telecom recovery solutions.", announced on the Data Storage Corp website on June 28, 2010.
SafeData's chairman Larry Putterman will serve on the board of directors of Data Storage Corp, and Peter Briggs who is President of SafeData, which also specializes in data restoration and recovery, will remain president and SafeData will not relocate.
"We plan to grow our organization organically and through strategic acquisitions," explained Chuck Piluso, Chairman and CEO of Data Storage Corporation. "With SafeData's penetration in the IBM iSeries market and its extensive client base, it was a logical addition.
