Must have' Tickets are now on sale for the bi-annual Advanced and Technical Diving event - EUROTEK.2010. Held on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th October in Halls 9, 10 and 11 at the International Convention Centre, Broad Street, Birmingham; EUROTEK has proved to be popular with a plethora of divers.
"In 2008 the vast majority of the delegates declared it a phenomenal weekend and the best conference of the year' ", stated Rosemary E Lunn, EUROTEK Co-Organiser. "Just about every major name that's anything to do with technical diving attended and we had experienced divers travel from Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Ireland, USA and South Africa to take part. I'm delighted to say that this international trend has continued because we've already had ticket requests from Spain, Belgium, South Africa, Canada and Ireland, and in one month we've sold half the ticket allocation. You don't need to be a techie diver to attend this, just a diver wanting to get more out of their diving. Spaces are limited, so to guarantee your place at EUROTEK.2010, don't leave it to the last minute, buy your ticket now or you could well end up very disappointed.
We've got a mouth-watering list of 26 speakers thanks to Co-Organiser Leigh Bishop's hard work. I'm thrilled to say we've successfully secured such luminaries as cave explorer Jill Heinerth, underwater cinematographer Carl Douglas, Algorithm Author Bruce Wienke (sponsored by Suunto), and tech legend Tom Mount (sponsored by IANTD). In addition the ever charming and popular Dr Simon Mitchell will be talking again. At 2008 his presentations were packed out, and not everyone got to hear him speak, hence we've invited him back to EUROTEK.2010. Simon's got the knack of being able to explain in quite simple terms complex physiological information to divers, whilst at the same time keeping the medics engaged. No wonder it was standing room only in his talks!
The Diving Industry has been very generous with their support and we'd like to thank Ambient Pressure Diving, DiveLife, Fourth Element, Silent Planet and Suunto for sponsoring EUROTEK this year. It's enabled us to put on a storming expo, because we have more than 35 UK and overseas specialist companies exhibiting and a display of historic rebreathers coming over from Holland. There's also a chance for you to win a VRX Computer or a Cuda Scooter worth over 4,000 with proceeds raised going to the Disabled Diving Charity, Deptherapy.
Finally on the Saturday evening we will be hosting a special Gala Award Dinner. 200 delegates along with Analox, Custom Divers, GUE, MR Diving, South West Diving, Suunto, TDI and VR Technology have already booked tables because they know they're in for a fantastic night. The Gala Dinner is truly good humoured and great fun. It's the perfect opportunity to network and socialise, catching up with some old friends and meeting new people, so come and join the party!
