Nokia Unveils The New E7 Handset

The smartphone sector of the mobile phone market is packed full of attractive models, thus the new Nokia E7 needs to stand out from the crowd. And with excellent screen technology and a physical keypad, the handset looks set to do so and become a huge success at the same time.

Putting the obvious attractions of the E7 to one side, the phone is also very well equipped in the multi media department. The highlight of this area is the phones excellent video capture facility. This offers users the oppurtunity to record footage if 720P resolotution, which is the minumum required to be classed as high definition. The film is recorded at a frame rate of 25 per second and the handset also offers settings for adjusting the colour tone and white balance. A video light ensures that you are not restricted by the lighting conditions around you. A second front facing VGA camera is present to allow for video calling. Still photography results are pleasing thanks to an 8 mega pixel resolution coupled with a high quality dual LED flash. A zoom facility allows you to get a little closer to your subject and facial recognition software focuses on faces within your frame. 16GB of internal memory is included on the phone, ample storage for a variety of different files, including audio. Music wise the 3.5mm stereo jack allows a range of headphones to be used with the E7.

Style wise, the Nokia E7 wins marks for its simplicity, whilst maintaining a very fashionable and sleek design. Around the edges of the chassis you can find a variety of ports and buttons that include an HDMI, micro USB, camera button and the 3.5 stereo jack. A real trump card of the E7 is its physical keypad, which is located neatly behind the phones screen. Upon using the device, the first thing that strikes you about this mechanism is just how well built it feels, often a problem on many slider styled devices. The screen slides upwards when the handset is in the landscape position, and when fully deployed the screen is left at a slight angle which makes it ideal for sitting on a flat surface. Internally, the E7 uses the latest version of the reliable Symbian operating system, which adds more customisable options on the homescreen as well as multiple integration options with the impressive Ovi Store. Nokia have unveiled a real gem with the new E7 handset. A combination of superb software and impressive hardware result in a phone that will appeal to both the message happy teenager and the traditional business user.

The Nokia E7 is coming soon and the Nokia N8 is available now.
