Tips for Purchasing Last Minute Tickets to Special Events

1. Don't Buy Your Tickets from Craigslist

Craigslist works best when you can determine a sale object's genuineness and price worthiness first hand. But for items that can be forged and passed off as authentic without most buyers knowing difference, as event tickets are one example, it's best to buy from a professional seller. Numerous people have purchased legitimate event tickets from Craigslist and would do so again. But there are also cases where forged tickets were sold. When there are other ticket buying options, why risk buying your through Craigslist?

2. Don't Buy Your Tickets from Scalpers

Because most scalpers sell tickets at event after event, they provide legitimate tickets to keep their business going. The only problem is that it's difficult to tell who's a return scalper and who isn't. Fraudulent scalpers typically target concerts where ticket prices are high across the board. But there are also incidents of forged tickets being sold for as little as $20. Again, when there are other ticket buying options, why risk buying your tickets from a scalper?

3. Don't Depend on Buying Tickets at the Event

What seems like a high number of unsold tickets just hours before an event is often misleading, making purchasing last minute tickets at the event site a risky idea. If hundreds for tickets remain for a small to medium sized event, chances are you can buy tickets at the window prior to start time. But if hundreds of tickets remain for a large show, it's best to get your tickets from a last minute ticket seller.

4. Buy from a Last Minute Ticket Seller

Some ticket sellers don't specialize in last minute tickets, while others do. These are the sellers you should contact for tickets shortly before an event commences. Last minute ticket sellers can do more than get you tickets; they can also offer you cherished seats that you thought were unavailable. Of course, getting tickets at the last minute, and especially getting cherished seats at the last minute, will cost more than buying tickets under normal circumstances. But for those who just can't miss a special event, the price is usually worth it.
