How To Create a Profession Themed Charm Bracelet

There are a great number of women today who are moving into very non-traditional types of jobs. This doesn't mean, however, that they wouldn't want to have a beautiful collection of charms to recognize their chosen profession, even if it isn't a typically job a woman may have held even just a few years ago. There are so many charms available now that finding charms for unique jobs is really not a problem, especially if you are creative in your thinking.A friend of mine recently decided that she wanted to work for a fire department. We do live in a larger city that has a few female firefighters, but they are definitely not all that common. I decided that a great way to recognize her achievement in graduating from the fire department academy and starting her career was to get her a collection of charms designed around being a firefighter.Since she is a silver jewelry lover, I decided to forgo gold charms and to get her a bracelet and charms that were in silver. This turned out to be a good decision and I was able to find a variety of charms that signified firefighting, graduation and starting a new career. For firefighting charms I was amazed at the selection I had to choose from. I ended up selecting beautifully detailed silver charms of a fire truck, firefighter's helmet, a firefighter's axe and also a tiny pick and shovel charm. In addition I added on a few different charms that I though tied in well with the profession. I found a ladder charm which I placed on the bracelet beside the fire truck, plus I also chose a cute little miniature fire hydrant that added a bit of humor to the whole bracelet. For graduation and career I selected a variety of silver charms that included a disc charm with an engraved component. On the engraving I put the name of the fire department training academy as well as the date of her graduation. Since she did graduate top of her class I was sure to include that on the back of the graduation charm.Since Rebecca is a great lover of all things to do with history and the fire department, I also found an adorable charm that included a Dalmatian dog in a fire hat. This combined with a pair of rubber boot charms, made the collection complete.I was very surprised how excited she was with the charm bracelet and collection of charms. I knew she would appreciate them but had no idea how much she had always loved charms but had never got around to starting her own bracelet. Now I have something to add to as gifts for many years to come.
