There are a number of college scholarships that you will be able to take advantage of and many of them have a February deadline that you will need to abide by if you wish to qualify. The James and Nellie Westlake Scholarship Program is just one of your options if you want to earn a college degree but do not have the money to pay for a higher education. This scholarship is available only to Missouri residents who are trying to pursue a college education and need funds to do so. If you are a resident of Missouri or plan on becoming one in the near future, you will find that it could help out a lot with your college expenses. The Westlake Scholarship only applies to four year colleges and the student who is deemed eligible must be enrolled full time. The deadline for this opportunity to receive funding is February 28th 2011, so you will want to make sure that you get your application turned in by then. If you are deemed eligible you will be able to receive enough to cover many of the costs that are typically asociated with going to college. The total gross income of your family must be under fifty thousand dollars in order to get the funds from this program. If you do receive them you will be able to purchase books, supplies, and pay for tuition with it.

The Military Commanders Scholarship Fund is yet another opportunity for those who wish to go to college but are having problems with the financial side of things. All applicants must be college seniors or graduates who have plans for enrolling in a four year college full-time. In order to keep the funds given to you, it will be necessary to maintain a GPA of at least 3.5. Qualifications for this scholarship include a demonstration of financial need and academic drive to be successful and do well in school. The deadline for this opportunity is February 15th, 2011. It's important to mark this date on your calendar to comply with the rules.

You will also want to consider the Best Buy Scholarship, which is a another way to pay for your college education. This particular opportunity is open to students who are in grades 9 through 12 and live in either the U.S or Puerto Rico. In order to qualify you must plan to enroll in a four year college and these funds are awarded to students who are able to demonstrate a real commitment to their academics. The deadline for this scholarship is February 16th, 2011. Financial aid is supported by a number of corporations and many retail stores offer this today.

In addition to getting in the scholarship forms, it's also important to assure that your college admission applications, essays and recommendations are also completed with whatever deadlines each school has noted in their guidelines.
