10 Most Expensive Vintage Toys Sold On Ebay

When you see some of the prices vintage toys bring in on eBay, it makes you look at those old toys stored away in the attic with a much more appreciative eye. Rare ones in good condition can take in thousands of dollars, like these 10.

1. World War I Army Tank

Many metal toys from the World War I era were actually destroyed so that the metal could be used for the war effort. That this one survived at all is exceptional. It's tin-plated and winds up, and brought in $4,500 on eBay.

2. Yoshiya Super Sonic Space Rocket

This early space age toy featured marvels like engine lights, and the specimen sold here was in perfect condition. It features intricate lithography on the wheels and rocket body, and went for $4,800.

3. 1930s Auto Union Race Car

This one was made in the 1930s in Germany, when there was, shall we say, a lot of other stuff going on there. This unit managed to avoid rust, and still has its original paint highlighting. And the wind-up mechanism still works great. No wonder it fetched $5,100.

4. Star Wars POTF Tri Logo Ewok Combat Playpack 1984

1984? Don't you have an aunt who still has the same hairstyle from that year? Well, the fact is, these Star Wars playpacks are just very rare. As soon as they hit eBay, bids soar, and they go fast. This one was unopened and brought in $5,998.98.

5. 1957 Bally Gene Autry CHAMPION 10-Cent Kiddie Ride

While "10-Cent Kiddie Ride" sounds like a good name for a rap artist, this one is actually a ride-on horse like the ones you still find in front of stores. But this one, from 1957 has a two-speed motor that still works great. Even the tune it plays sounds good as new. This ride brought in $7,200.

6. 1945 Pedal Train Steam Locomotive

This mini pedal-powered steam train replica looks like the actual steam trains of the 1940s. Found near the rail yards in Fontana, California, this amazingly well-preserved specimen brought in $7,500.

7. French Marionette circa 1985

This catlike French Marionette was made by one of Atelier France's master puppet makers. Beautifully crafted, it sold in 2010 for $8,990.

8. Marklin Hand-Painted Beer Wagon

This tiny and rare toy beer wagon was originally sold by Marklin. It's only 15 inches long and was painted meticulously by hand. Even though it was missing a few barrels, this wagon was rare enough to bring in $9,000.

9. 1994 GI Joe Manimals Vortex MOC C-7

It's hard to believe that a toy from 1994 could bring in enough to buy a decent car, but when only two are known to exist, and this one happens to have never been opened, that's what happens. Winning bid? $20,100.

10. Post War Lionel Toy Crane

You knew Lionel made some pricey items, but this? Well, this Lionel 3360 Burro Crane is actually the prototype that was used to test different color schemes. So it's one of a kind, and it's stood up to 60 years in terrific shape. The winning bid on this rare toy was $85,000!
