A Move Towards the Completely 4G Mobile Internet

Technology moves towards being more efficient and productive, attempting to make people's lives more convenient. Just as telecommunications has progressively improved and become more mobile, internet connections might just be following that same trajectory, coalescing into the ultimate smart phone, complete with its own high speed internet connection, phone number, and text messaging capabilities. The move towards the mobile ensures that the fast paced lifestyle of the United States can be kept up with. Having a mobile internet connection such as the 4G wireless network allows people to do much more throughout their day as simple things are made much more convenient.

You can trace the origins of telecommunication back to the telegraph, in which messages were transmitted through a series of short and long sounds, which denoted a particular letter. It is amazing to see how far civilization and technology as advanced in terms of communication. Today, smart phones enable people to not only communicate via text and phone calls but also through the internet! Home phones traditionally provided families and individuals to communicate with other family members or with friends. Each family and household shared that phone line. As the first pagers and beepers surfaced into the market, people were able to notify their loved ones, signally them to locate a phone to call their significant others, children, or whomever is notifying them. Pagers progressed even further to the first cellular phones. Since then, in the past decade, cellular phones have grown increasingly mobile and sleek, with additional feature such as cameras, text messaging, ring tones, among many other exciting capabilities.

Wireless internet appears to be following this similar path in a move towards becoming more mobile and convenient for the user. The dial-up internet connection moved towards the traditional broadband internet connection, such as cable and DSL. Then, within the household or the office, wireless internet connections were available so that people weren't completely tied to their desks with their cords and cables. Rather, they were free to roam the vicinity so long as the signal was still strong enough to reach their computers. Now, with the 4G wireless internet, people are able to access the internet from their smart phones or laptop computers no matter where in the city they may be. This ultimate mobility frees them from any restrictions. It lets them work while they are away from the home or office. Plus, with a mobile air card, they can access this same high speed internet connection from their laptop computers and not just their smart phones.

Thus, with the 4G high speed mobile internet connection comparable to the same traditional broadband connection you enjoy at home or at the office, it is logical to see the progression of mobile internet move towards the 4G wireless, perhaps even eventually replacing traditional broadband connections just as cellular phones have begun to replace landlines. Although this will not happen soon because reliance on the 4G network has yet to be established, it has spread to large area of the country and soon people will opt to cancel their traditional broadband internet service contracts.
