"Often people tell me that playing rash shots on the verge of a ton is risky. But I feel that the definition of "risk" is different for every batsman. I like to be aggressive and for me, instead, defending the ball might be risky. A ball is there to be hit. I want to score off every ball," said Sehwag whose 293 run knock against Sri Lanka in the third Test at Mumbai in 2009 was adjudged as the best Test innings of the year.
"Usually people are worried about the pitch but I never see the track before the match. Thinking about the pitch, might weigh heavy on the mind. Suppose it looks flat then one starts thinking about the shots or if it looks bouncy then you might be worried. So I don't care about the wicket. I never saw the pitch even when I was India's captain. If you are playing in South Africa you have to play three "seamers" and one spinner but if you are playing in India you have to play two spinners," said Sehwag.
"Though I have been successful as an opening batsman, I still feel more comfortable in the middle order. In fact, I would love to play at number four but Sachin plays at that number. I am waiting for him to retire." Sehwag said laughing.
