Dale Carnegie Ideas- How To Influence People And Get Across Your Ideas

Have you ever wished that you had the power to control your partner's mind? Wouldn't it be nice to be able to get people to do what you wanted them to, when you wanted them to? I am not here to teach you mind control, but I can give you some hints that Dale Carnegie gave to his students on the subject of winning people to your way of thinking. In this article I will detail out Mr. Carnegie's first four ideas. The first thing that you should do if you want to bring people to your way of thinking is to avoid arguments. No one really wins in an argument. When I feel thunders of discontent brewing I will simply change the subject. If it is a topic that I know must be addressed I will remain calm and march straight into the disagreeable topic. The key is to be willing to disagree in a manner that is respectful to everyone involved.Everyone has an opinion, most of the time you will agree with your partner, but sometimes you will totally disagree. When these times come show respect for their way of thinking and never, ever say "You're wrong!" You are allowed to feel how ever you want about them, just use different words to describe it. When you use those words you completely destroy any chance of winning them to your side because now they are on the defense.Sometimes you will realize that you are wrong. When you realize this don't try to cover it up. Simply admit it quickly and emphatically and move on. When you accept that you have been wrong about something and point it out most people will show you grace and just move on. Keep in mind though if you are caught being wrong, you hold all the cards. A friendly manner is the only way to talk someone over to your side and to make it stick. What do I mean? Smile, be polite and considerate, show them you actually enjoy their company and you are interested in what they have to say. This will bring you a lot more success than trying to begin with a frown on your face. Rudeness is never excusable now matter how serious the conversation.Dale Carnegie was successful in his life because her knew how to put these things into practice. Take these four ideas and begin applying them today in your life. My next article will discuss the rest of his techniques for winning people over to your way of thinking.
