2. Biomass Collection is Difficult Another disadvantage of the biomass is the collection process, most energy sources don't require you to do any collection but the process of collecting the biomass resources can be a very strenuous one.

Problems With Availability of Crops Biomass also has another major disadvantage in regards to the crop availability, the crops needed are not available throughout the year and this can be a great and challenging problem. Having fuel is one thing, having a stable and reliable fuel is another thing.
4. It is Expensive The process of collecting the biomass resources, creating the machine that will process and convert the energy into useful energy is very expensive and can be below the reach of the average person, and this makes biomass energy even less important.
5. It is not Efficient Biomass energy is also not that efficient because of the type of energy it produces and the rate at which it produces it. The initial energy produced can be very low and almost useful and it also take additional time, effort and resources to convert the energy derived into a useful one.
