subject: Step by Step, I will get my Tiffany [print this page] There was a period of time when I did nothing but daydreaming. Sometimes, when I look back and think of that period, I just can't believe that I have waste time in a way like that. Everyday, I didn't feel like doing anything except losing myself in the world of beautiful dreams that I had woven for myself, which were totally unrealistic for I was still only a middle school student.
Often I would dream of being a rich woman who wore fashionable clothes, customized high heels and high-qualified jewelries such as the Tiffany silver jewelry necklace. Then a luxurious life I would lead and finally I would meet my Mr. Right, who would offer me the most shining Tiffany ring, then a happy life we were sure to live.
Everyday, I was lost in my own imagination, both at home and in class, which made my parents very worried. I didn't feel like listening to the teachers any more, for I was always busy imagining my future life. Of course, I did a very bad job in the mid-term examination. However, it was not until the shameful grades struck me that I finally realized the importance of focusing my attention in the real life.
Daydreaming is not like having a dream so that you will work hard and keep going until you finally realize the dream. On the contrary, daydreaming all the time without doing any thing is just like committing suicide which will claim the happiness of your future life.
So I began to focus my mind in my studies, though once or twice I lost in daydreaming again, I was able to drag myself out of that situation and return to the real life. I also wrote a card on which wrote "Focus on the presence!", and whenever I feel tired, I would stop to look that card, which could spur me on working harder. It really worked! After getting rid of the bad habit of daydreaming all the time and working harder, I did quite a good job in my studies, which made me feel that I was one step closer to my dream of living a better life.
