Astrology

Destiny is one thing which comes at its own pace. No matter how fast you run, it will catch you. And what is the great thing about it that most of us are interested to know what future holds for us. And since need is the mother of invention, the need to know about the future gave birth to the science of astrology and palmistry, two of the various ways to know the future. Astrology is the science that helps us know our future on the basis of some information that includes the location of celestial bodies like sun, moon at the time of our birth. Though in scientific world it is hailed as the pseudo scientific hokum, but it has its effects and to some extent it works.

Indian astrology provides one of the oldest and well established theories in this field and it revolves around twelve zodiac signs. These signs depict the basic character of a person and based on some calculations the future perspectives can be found out. Astrology signs are based on the position of moon in the twelve housed square called "Kundli". Each of these houses represents a zodiac and the child is given the sign of the house which has moon in it.

In the past astrologer only observed the heavenly bodies and their movement, but at present people of the world has progressed a lot in this sector. Though there is a great controversy about astrology, some people still believe it and try to follow the rules of the astrology. So it depends on a person how he will take this thing.

Palmistry

Palmistry is an ancient art and one that has many systems of interpretation. It is also an intuitive art that is easily learned just by learning a few basics about the symbolism that is represented by the lines that run across the palm, the mounts (or fleshy parts) of the palm and the structure of fingers.

In some systems, the right hand represents who you are today and the left hand, everything that you were born with when you came into this world. For "palmistry on the run" though it is best to read the hand that the person writes with, as that would be considered to be dominant hand.

In palmistry, the hand as a whole is divided into three different sections. The Fingers represent the mind and the higher self. The middle of the palm represents day-to-day life and the conscious mind. The lower half of the hand represents primal instincts, health and basic drives of the subconscious. Palmistry is all about proportion, symmetry and distortions of what would be considered to be a perfectly formed hand.

You can tell a lot about a person by looking at their thumb and fingers. The thumb has three phalanges. Its tip represents will power. A club shaped thumb indicates criminal tendency. Pointed or long tips indicate creativity and intelligence. The middle phalange represents logic. The longer the phalange, the more efficient and strategic the person. The fleshy part at the base of the thumb is called the Mount of Venus, which represents empathy, emotion, grace and compassion. The fatter and fleshier this part of the hand is, the more sensitive and compassionate the individual.

Hasta Samudrika Shastra

Features analyzed in Samudrika Shastra may belong to any part of the physique. Those marks found on the human hand, however, form a specialized study known within the Vedic tradition as Hasta Samudrika Shastra. Praised in antiquity, Hasta Samudrika Shastra confines itself to the hand because Hasta means "hand." Thought to be more expressive than even the face, the human hand thus becomes a Darpana, a mirror, that reflects its owner's nature and fate.
