There are many things that could probably cause tinnitus or ringing ears. Tinnitus usually occurs when there is damage done inside the inner ear. They may not match the power produced by stereos, but they could still bring damage to your ear since they can emit sounds that are over 100 decibels because they are much nearer to your ear.
An injury or a trauma to your head can also be a factor of your ringing ear. If your head is hit hard enough, the shock that is produced may travel to your inner ear. This can be devastating to the microscopic hair cells because it can cause them to misalign and even break. Your medication may play its part in causing a ringing in your ears. Some of the drugs, prescription or otherwise, have various side effects. Some drugs that can have tinnitus as a side effect include aspirin, some antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicines.
There are cases though that your ringing in the ear may be caused by changes in your blood pressure. This type of tinnitus is called pulsatile or objective tinnitus. When their blood pressure rises, they may start to hear a whooshing or rhythmic sound in one or both of their ears. This is caused by the blood trying to push its way through the narrowed blood vessels near your ear.
If you have hypertension and suspect that the ringing in your ears is caused by it, you better consult your physician. Otherwise, this may lead to complications in your disease. If you are affected by the other types of tinnitus though, there is no need to worry. The tinnitus goes away on its own in about two days or less. If it does go on for more than a week, then you may have a more serious condition.
