How does a fantastic toned abdomen with no jigglystomach fat seem to you?
Do you picture yourself finally feeling healthy, self-assured, and happy with the way you appear no matter what you're wearing?
Well all of that can definitely happen! But not by trying to get rid of that abdominal fat with these methods!
Fad Diets. Pretty much all these do is deny your system the food and nutrients it needs to run effectively. Because your body is not getting balanced amounts and kinds of food from the dieting, it goes into "starvation mode".
In "starvation mode", your system starts to use its own muscle mass for energy instead of using fat, as a nourished body might. If you decide to get off the diet (because you start to feel deprived and miserable) you will revert back to your old eating routine and acquire all the pounds back.
You gain the weight back because you have less muscle to burn the calories from all the foods you're now eating. And since you've been deprived for all this time, you may potentially pile on the unhealthy food for old time's sake. (Comfort food is SUCH the deceitful enemy!)

Not Building Muscle. As you've read, sacrificing muscle tissue can cause weight gain but the loss of muscle is equivalent to not building any at all.
Having tiny amounts of lean muscle mass for any physique leads to inefficient utilization of calories. Basically, the food you eat gets stored as fat since there is no muscle mass to fuel.
Lack of muscle also slows down your "Resting Metabolic Rate" (RMR). Your RMR is the every day amount of calories required to maintain your body weight. The more lean muscle mass you have, the higher your RMR is going to be and the more you can "eat what you want without gaining a pound". Well, you can't actually eat "whatever" you want and hope to keep your shape, but 1 day of being unfaithful won't hurt so badly.
So by having a high RMR, you can consume more to give energy to your muscles. And by doing that, your starving muscles will "eat" more of your kept extra fat, even as you sleep! How 'bout that? This can lower your body fat percentage and showcase your hot muscles!
So lacking muscles to nourish can be equally as devastating to your weight loss strategy as going on a fad diet.
