If youre reading this there is a good chance its 2am and you have been trying to sleep since 10 or 11pm. I can relate to what your going through. It doesnt get much more frustrating than laying there trying to sleep, and all you can do is think about random things that pop into your head. Worse yet, at this point all you can do is dwell on the fact that youre going to be so tired the next day if you dont get to sleep soon. You probably aready know all the basic tips for getting to sleep. You need a quiet room, a dark room, a comfortable bed, no distractions. Well all that may not help. I know it doesnt always help me. There are a couple of things that may be able to help. So get ready to get some sleep. This first thing that Im going to talk about is something that might help you fall asleep tonight. Its music. If you are in a state of frustration about not being able to get to sleep, its a good idea to get your mind on something else. Try listening to some music on headphones. Keep it on the quieter side and just listen. It can really help you relax. There is also binaural beats available out there that are proven to work for some. These are designed to help slow your brainwave activity to the levels of sleep. The next thing Im going to talk about is not going to help you immediately. Its simply something that can help over time if youre struggling with sleep every night. What you want to do is get on a schedule for sleep. I know most people who need help falling asleep tend to have erratic sleep schedules. On the weekend you stay up until 2am whereas on the weeknights (when you probably have to work) you try to get to bed by 11pm or so. The other problem is sleeping in on the weekends. There is a good chance that you probably sleep until 10 or 11am (or maybe 2pm) on the weekends. The problem is, your body needs a more consistent schedule. If you can keep a fairly consistent sleep schedule it will help with falling asleep at night. You should try to go to bed within the same hour every night, and get up at the same time everyday. This will train your body to go to sleep when you go to bed. I hope this helps, and have a good night!About the Author:
