Gemstones are formed over millions of years via heat and pressure in the earth. They are actually hardened colorful minerals. Amber, however, is not a gemstione. Rather, it is a tree resin that can be found in countries such as India, Nepal, Tibet, Poland and Russia. Amber from the Baltic Sea is considered as being the best by many collectors. It is a deep orange color with fossilzed insect inclusions. Amber is listed along with healing gemstones because of its profound healing ability. Amber comes in naturally fragrant raw chunks as well as in essential oil and hardended stones that make excellent healing jewelry. However, the buyer must be certain that the Amber being purchased is authentic. Some is only colored plastic. A reputable dealer in healing gemstones will supply only true Amber. Raw Amber chunks can be rubbed between the fingers to make it into a creamy texture and rubbed into sore aching joints, muscles and tissues. Some persons are experiencing aches and pains due to the frequency shift of the EArth, called the "Shumann Resonance", which in 1987 scientists observed having chaged from the usual 7.83 cycles to well over 12 cycles which means that creation is literally being sped-up! Our bodies are being transformed from a carbon-based entity to a crystalline one. Our very DNA will become 12-stranded rather than continue at its double-helix two-stranded modality. This transformation process brings with it many physiological, mental and emotional challenges that are best addressed with spiritual (prayer and meditation) and natural (vegetarian foods, pure spring water, herbs, laying-on-of-hands, yoga, tai chi, essential oils, gemstones, etc.) methods.
Gemstones, including the Amber resin, heal via their vibrations penetrating first the aura around the human body temple which is an invisible light encircling the average body at about three feet around. Those persons with a very high consciousness, such as Yogis (male) and Yoginis (female) may have an aura that extends to fifteeen feet around. Sometimes our auras can be invaded whn wer are in energy that is disharmonious such as a toxic environment, stressful people, loud noises, etc. The holes that can result must be sealed. Next, gemstone vibrations penetrate our personal vibratory range. A vibration is an oscillation of energy up and down and back and forth. Those who vibrate higher than others are quite spiritually-oriented and even have healing abilities beyond the norm. Then gemstones penetrate our meridians which are invisible accupunture lines that align with various muscles, glands, organs and tissues in our body temples. Then, the gemstones work on our chakras, a word which means "wheels", and which are rays of light which surround numerous power centers, and which are of varying colors. Finally, the gemstone energy moves into our cells which are records of our thoughts, words and deeds which have an effect upon our physical, mental and emotional "Selves". In other words, mental images, oral and silent words, and feelings produce actual experiences for good or ill. Most people are familiar with the phrase "Thoughts are things".
As earlier stated, Amber has powerful healing energy. It is perhaps the oldest natural substance on the Earth. Whether used in its raw state, as an oil or as a necklace, bracelet or ring, it reduces stress causing a relaxation response, eases aches and pains, heals sore throats (place just a pinch of the raw chunk in warm tea with honey), is a natural probiotic, strengthens the liver, gallbladder, bladder and kidneys, heals digestive upset, protects the aura from invasion and helps to elevate the consciousness during prayer and meditation. It takes approximately 40 days of consistent use for any gemstone, including the Amber resin, to completely enhance health, although its frequencies begin to be activated as soon as a gemstone is "processed". To do this, when first received or purchased, the gemstone must be washed in warm soapy water and towel-dried. Then it must be placed in bright sunlight on a window ledge, on a table or on one's home altar for three hours. These steps are the cleansing process. Next, the gemstone must be placed between the palms of the hands, and according to one's personal spiritual or religious path, the Divine must be sought in prayer to activate the enegies of the stone. This is the blessing process. Now it is ready to use or to wear. We must never allow anyone to touch or to wear our healing jewelry because once cleansed and blessed, it is aligned with our personal vibrations. The vibrations of others may cause chaos and confusion as the gemstone endeavors to work on our issues.
Some persons prefer to wear a "Mala" (a Sanskrit word which means "garland") and which are prayer beads. They are used to count mantras or Divine sounds. Beautiful prayer beads in Amber are available from dealers who often obtain them from monks in certain places in the world who string the Mala beads while chanting sacred mantras. An additional step is necessary when preparing a Mala for use. After the initial cleansing process, hold it over the flame of a white candle (being sure not to let the beads or your fingers touch the flame) for several seconds, and then in the smoke of wafting Sandalwood incense. Then hold the Mala between the palms of your hands and recite this mantra: " OM RUTSIRA MANI PRAWA TAYA HUM" . This mantra opens-up the "consciousness", i.e., the frequency of the Mala to receive your prayers, meditations and other chants. Becasue of its sacredness, never wear a Mala into a bathroom, or place it on top of dirty clothing or place it on a car seat while driving, or handle it in any careless manner. Keep it in a special pouch when not in use that remains on your altar or in a special drawer or case that contains other sacred items. A collector of healing gemstones may find that Amber becomes his or her most treasured stone.
