Carpet cleaning methods - Which one is best?

Keeping carpets at home also means lots of cleaning to maintain hygiene. You must clean your carpet every 12 to 18 months or else you will be inhaling lots of dust with air. Carpets accumulate dust and you need a vacuum cleaner to clean the carpets but all the dust will not be cleaned with the vacuum. If you pull the carpet for cleaning, you will find lots of dust. The residues become permanent stains if you don't clean them periodically.

There are many ways to clean a carpet. One such method is dry cleaning. As the name suggests this method does not use water for cleaning. The dry cleaning systems use a powder solvent is applied to the carpet. Then a rotating brush is used to spread the solvent everywhere on the carpet and clean the carpet. At last the powder is vacuumed out of the carpet with the help of a machine.

Dry cleaning method is a fast process and there is no need of drying the carpet after cleaning. This is because water is not used here. But there is a disadvantage of dry cleaning which is that the power becomes sticky after a certain period and this attracts dirt and soil easily and so the carpet gets dirty easily. There is no alternative to steam cleaning as this does not leave any dirt after cleaning. Most people recommend steam cleaning but dry cleaning is used mostly in offices. Though dry cleaning is the fastest carpet cleaning methods, you need to steam clean your carpets at least once a year.
