A few years ago nobody knew what a ghillie suit was. I had to keep explaining it to them and even a picture of one did not fully convey what they were and what they did. Nowadays, I do have to do that anymore.
When Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 hit the stores in late 2009, nobody would have thought that it would have created the buzz that it did for ghillie suits. During the game a player may have a ghillie suit on if he chooses to use a sniper rifle as his primary weapon. Ghillie suits have been in previous video games before, but the biggest difference is that they actually work in this game! Previous graphics were not up to par to show the real concealment value of a ghillie suit. However, with the computer power today and super detailed graphics, ghillie suits will blend into the background.
Because of their popularity among gamers, the kids ghillie suit has become a very popular item. Made from the same material as their adult counterparts, the kids ghillie suit is just as effective and is not just a novelty.
This Halloween I dawned my ghillie suit while passing out candy in front of my house. Not suprisingly, most of the kids instantly knew what I was wearing, even shouting it out by name when alerting their friends and also asking me where I purchased mine. In the past, I was always called the crazy person in the tree costume or the bushman and mossman.
