Unhealthy Lifestyle Harms the Kidney
Unhealthy Lifestyle Harms the Kidney

In daily life, we often see someone clutches his waist and says he has a bad kidney. In fact, there are less than 10% people taht recognize symptoms of the kidney disease. Even doctors don't know much about it. Kidney is one of the most organs. What functions does it have? Why kidney diseases happen so frequently? Kidney is very important. To make a compare, kidney is like a boiler from which coal cinder (metabolite) is cleared away. Once there is something wrong with the boiler, the waste can not be discharged. Thus, not only the boiler is damaged but also the whole system can be broken down. Kidney has three main functions. First, it produces urine to keep the water balance. There are about 1.3 million glomeruli which filter and clean 200 liters blood (which equal 10 barrels of drinking water) and produce 1.8 liters urine. When the body has too much or too little water, the kidney can regulate it to keep the balance. Second, it clears away metabolite and toxic substances. The body produces metabolite like urea, uric acid, creatinine which is discharged by the urine. Third, it secrets EPO, activated vitamin D and vaso-active substance to promote hematopoiesis, regulate the metabolism of calcium and phosphorus and control blood pressure respectively. Nowadays, people pay more and more attention on the health and nutrition. However, still many people suffer from kidney diseases. One of the causes is related to people's unhealthy lifestyle. Many people like to drink much beer when eating seafood. Food rich in proteins, like fish and meat, can produce metabolite like uric acid and urea nitrogen which impede the excretion of kidney. In summer, lots of people like to eat seafood and drink beer at the same time which harms the kidney badly. Many people stay up late, eat salty food and drink little water but much tea and coffee. Thus, they are easier to have kidney problems. Salty food causes blood pressure rise. If drinking little water for a long time, there would be little urine. And therefore, the waste and toxic substances can not be carried out by urine. As a result, kidney stone and uronephrosis occur. Many people take the medicine randomly. Some medicine harms the kidney badly. Many people hold urine. When urine stays in the bladder for a long time, bacteria grow rapidly there. Once they come to the kidney by the ureter, the kidney can be infected. As experts say, once you protect your kidney, you can have a long life.
