subject: Reduce Sciatica Pain - How To Eliminate Sciatic Nerve Pain [print this page]

Do you have sciatica that just never seems to go away. Is the pain hurting while standing, or while you are sitting down for dinner. If so, there a number of ways that you can eliminate your sciatica pain once and for all. Below are ways that you can get rid of your sciatica pain forever.

The first way to reduce sciatica pain is with stretching and exercises. By doing various types of stretches throughout the day your sciatic nerve will start to become un-pinched, thus reducing the pain that you are having currently. Sciatica stretches should be done more than one time a day. You should spend at least three times a day doing some type of stretch or exercise.

The next few stretches are ones that can cause more harm than good. Exercises including a bouncing up and down or running, or anything that includes a dynamic stretch. In some cases, this will be useful, but when first starting out, you should stick to static stretching.

The next way to reduce sciatica pain is to take meds. This will greatly reduce your pain. Although most people do not like to take medication, it will help ease the pain. This type of treatment will not cure your sciatica, thus it is important that you do not take more than what is prescribed by your doctor. If you are feeling better because the medication is working, you should then start to slowly move into stretching and exercises. The more you are able to straighten your sciatic nerve and the surrounding area, the more pain will become reduced.

Now that you know what you can do to relieve your pain, its time to start treating. From stretching to medications, you can always find some way to reduce your sciatica pain.
