How To Make A Squeeze Page - The Exact Steps

A squeeze page offers one of the best ways to get people onto an email list. It's fast, easy and efficient to put on up onto the internet and with the proper promotion, it gets people signed up to it like *that* (snap of the fingers). But how do you make one? Well, with the tools out there today, it's very easy. Here's how to make a squeeze page.

First of all, I'm assuming you have a domain and website hosting set up? Good. My preferred building tool these days is Wordpress. It's a blogging tool but is excellent for this sort of thing as well. It's very very customizable and best of all, free! Grab it from the wordpress.org site (not the .com one, that's different). Once you've got it set up and installed, you add a theme and change the homepage to a static page. Just go settings-reading and under 'Front page displays' choose 'A static page'.

Now you can have some fun with the big bright colours and snappy headlines. Remember that the success of a squeeze page is in the headline - it needs to grab someone and quickly. Offer something huge, something that will make people want what it is that you have. Be bold. Very bold.

Perhaps offer a testimonial if you feel like it, or even a video recording of you speaking about whatever it is that entering an email address will give the visitor.

Now, you'll need to have an autoresponder set up with an email sequence. Aweber is good for this, probably the market leaders. It's about $20 per month, so quite reasonable for the service. Design your opt-in box in Aweber and then copy the code into your website. If using Wordpress switch to the 'HTML' view when editing your homepage.

And you're done! Of course, there's a lot more to email marketing then just making a squeeze page. Remember that just because you now know how to make a squeeze page, you don't have to. Squeeze pages are no longer the best method of getting email addresses. Because there was very little content to great the visitor, just something snappy they won't feel the same loyalty towards you. Imagine a squeeze page being like cotton candy, and other methods of getting opt-ins like a beautifully baked artisan bread.

But, if you want to make one, I can't stop you. You know how to make a squeeze page, they're simple. So go make some money!
