Organize Your Closet The Quick and Easy Way

You can find out how to organize your closet really quite easily, but keeping is organized is usually the hard part once the organizing has been done. Here are the best tips to that will help you maintain that fresh, tidy clean closet that you have after your spring-cleaning over haul.

2 Boxes - Place two boxes or bags in your closet well labeled and easy to see and find. One of these is your donation' bag and the other is your needs mending' bag. When you come across an item that fits either of these two places then put it in there quick. Don't let it get mixed back in with your other clothes, just get it in there.

Pictures say a 1000 words - Use pictures of your closet at its absolute best to keep that at the forefront of your mind. These pictures, which should be taken after you first clean, your closet can be posted either in the closet or close by to remind you when you use it, where everything goes. You can also do this for each section of your closet two. Placing the picture above any hanging sections of your closet, or on the outside of any storage boxes that you are using.

One touch rule - Use the one touch rule in your room and even better in your home. The rule is if you touch it you have to use it in one full cycle. So for example you would never take off you sweater only to lay it on the bed, only to move it onto the chair and then later to the floor days before it gets back to the closet. You simply "one touch" it right from your hands the first time and into the closet. If you have a home that falls into disarray easily this one practice can make a world of difference in your house.

Always decide right now - Never walk away from a piece of clothing or a closet item without make a decision about it. If you are not sure if you will wear it again commit to trying it. Don't leave it hanging there, put it on and wear it the next day. If you hit a roadblock and you just really don't like it, it doesn't fit or it needs repairing then you know what to do with it next. The last thing you want to do is to ignore the item in question, just confront it head on!

Attitude is everything. - The last thing to do is to know that you can be organized. Some may have excuses that their personality is such of a disorganized person, that they don't have time to organize or that it takes money to be organized. These are simply not true. Anyone can learn to be organized it is only a mental habit to implement. Once the habit is there little more needs to be done. It doesn't take money to be organized but it does take a commitment. You have to want to be organized more the enjoying the routine of not being organized. Check in with yourself and find out if this is the case.
