3 Tips and Strategies on How to Overcome Adversities

In this holiday season, while a lot of people are in celebration mode and

looking forward to feast with their families and friends, and look forward to

give gifts and receive them from their loved once; there are others who are

struggling to overcome adversities and are not in celebration mode at all.

As always, my tips and strategies focus on those who are faced with

obstacles, challenges, adversities, and are trying to overcome. I know there

are hundreds of different reasons for why people pass through lifes ups

and downs. But, when the hard times come around the holiday seasons, it is

even harder and deeper and more painful than other times; because it feels

like the adversity has excluded some of us from enjoying the season and left

us to deal with our misfortune while others are having good times.

So, what is the best way to deal with our adversity during this time of year?

I will give you three tips and strategies to help ease your discomfort and

look past your adversities. Here they are

1. Thanksgiving is here, but you have so many worries and lack of one thing

and the other, how are you going to be thankful?

Your answer to the question is, just start by being thankful for being alive.

Because you are alive, you will go past your adversity and see a better day

sooner or later.

During any adversity, obstacle or challenge, that is not life threatening,

you have a lot to be thankful for. If you are healthy, you can survive all

other adversities; if you focus on finding ways to overcome as oppose to

making your adversity a heavy load on your shoulder than what it really is.

Remember the saying what doesnt kill you will make you stronger.

Most adversities can be overcome if we dont let them crash us deep down

past our body into our soul. Dont let your soul be poisoned by what you

can go past, if you managed it strategically, calmly, and with patience. Give

everything time, Time Heals.

2. In American culture, a holiday season happened to be more of a shopping

season, than a celebration of the holidays and each other. I read a saying

once, A house is where you keep your stuff while you go out and get more

stuff. If that is what a house is, it is not about a home, families,

friends, loved once, the holidays then are a time to get more stuff and pile

it in your storage or garage until you have no space, to even park your car

in your garage.

Believe me, I have seen this happen so many times as I am a real estate agent

and I do visit so many homes; to show to potential buyers.

My point, you should not feel bad because you are not able to buy stuff as

you used to, or as you would like to; instead take the holidays for what they

are meant to be. Holidays, are supposed to be a time of celebration of the

seasons. They are for celebrating special dates, religion or otherwise. They

are to celebrate one another and have good times. If we have pure love for

one another, we will have goodtime drinking pure water; we dont have to

really give all the material things to one another.

3. Look around and see the stuff that just filled up your space, I dont

think any of us need more stuff in our homes. What we really need is each

others real affection. We dont have to have Champaign and big feast to

gather and be happy. Our presence for each other is a celebration all by

itself.

Try and be there for somebody this season to support them, listen to them, to

comfort them, to encourage them, to show that you care, and to make them feel

special and loved. It doesnt cost anything to do all of the above except

your time and your affection. That is the best gift you can give to anyone

and stay in their heart for the rest of their lives, remembered and

appreciated.

In general, take your time and see life in a different perspective. You are

not measured by how much material goods you give or receive but by how much

real affection you have for your fellow human beings. Go show your affection

to those who you care about, and see what the return on your investment is

going to beI tell you it will be tons of appreciation!

This is it for today, until I meet you with my next article, take good care

of yourself and those who you care about.

Happy Holidays
